Odyssey PC2250 Drycell Battery
The PC2250 Odyssey Battery is a 12 volt 2250CA/1225CCA 126 Ah drycell AGM battery with 3/8″ stud and an SAE automotive terminal. It is concidered a BCI group size 6T but you can put into a series to have the same dimensions as an 8D only to have twice the cranking power of a traditional one. Though the Ah rating will be comparable. The BCI group size 8D are found in many foreign and domestic vehicles manufactured the world over. Vehicles to include but not limited to police, fire rescue, marine, and heavy truck trucks. This PC2250 Odyssey Battery is comprised of drycell technology. It is still considered an AGM battery and one that packs a punch! With 2250 ca cranking amps and 1225 cca cold cranking amps this PC2250 Odyssey Battery is a tough one. All Odyssey batteries are true deep cycle batteries capable of incredible cycle life. (meaning they can be discharged and recharged hundreds of times) Over 400 times to be exact without any decrease in capacity of cranking power making it one of the best marine batteries on the market for its size. Odyssey’s design prevents the internal plates from corrosion and sulfating, the main cause for battery failure. The pure lead design allow is to be charged at up to 15.2 volts at 50 amps making for a very fast recharge. Any charger or alternator will be sufficient to charge the Odyssey PC2250 battery but we always recommend the Odyssey line of chargers in conjunction with the use of any Odyssey Extreme Series Battery. Twice the overall power and three times the service life of conventional batteries
Some batteries offer enormous cranking power. Others, deep cycle reserve power. Unbeatable ODYSSEY® Extreme Series™ batteries do both. Even at very low temperatures, ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries have the power to provide engine-cranking pulses in excess of 2250 amps for 5 seconds – double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries. And they can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge.
How so much power is possible
ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries are made with flat plates made of 99.99% pure lead – not lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so we can fit more of them in the battery. More ODYSSEY battery plates mean more plate surface area. And that means more power – twice as much as conventional batteries.
Packed with more power
Like many popular spiral-wound batteries, ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries employ dry cell Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology to contain acid, allowing the battery to be installed even on its side. But the densely packed flat plates in an ODYSSEY Extreme Series battery avoid the “dead space” between cylinders in a “six pack” design. The result is 15% more plate surface area — and that translates to more power!
Phenomenal starting power and massive deep cycle reserve power in one battery!
Some batteries provide enormous cranking power. Others, deep cycle reserve power. The revolutionary ODYSSEY® battery is designed to do both.
How is this possible? The answer begins with flat plates made of 99.99% pure virgin lead – not lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so we can fit more of them in the battery. More ODYSSEY battery plates mean more plate surface area. And that means more power – twice as much as conventional batteries.
In fact, this odyssey battery is capable of providing engine cranking pulses in excess of 2250 amps for 5 seconds – double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries, even at very low temperatures. And they can handle 400 charge-discharge cycles to 80% depth of discharge.
This extreme combination of power and performance makes the PC2250 Odyssey battery perfect for a wide range of applications, including automotive/LTV, marine, commercial applications.
